Everton youngster George Morgan, 19, has joined fourth-tier French side AS Cannes on loan until the end of the season, confirmed by the Premier League club on Saturday. Morgan, yet to appear for the Everton first team, has been a regular feature for the club’s U18 and U21 sides, recording five goal contributions in 28 games for the latter and 16 (13 goals and three assists) in 31 games for the former.

Without first-team prospects at Everton for the remainder of the season, Morgan’s loan facilitates his development by joining Cannes, a team engaged in a promotion race this year after narrowly missing out last season.
