Barcelona will attempt a historic comeback against Atletico Madrid in the Copa del Rey semi-final second leg with a quarter of their stadium empty next week. Despite claiming that they would be in a position to increase the capacity to 62,000 seats in January after they returned to Camp Nou, the delays continue to be an issue four months later.

The Blaugrana's original plan was to return to Camp Nou with a capacity of 60,000 fans in November 2024, but resumed the season with 45,000 seats available. Their latest attempt to expand capacity to 62,000 in time for the Atletico clash was rejected by the City Council due to incomplete documentation. Barcelona hopes to secure the necessary approvals in time for upcoming matches against Sevilla and in the Champions League.
