Both players were born outside of Morocco, with Ebnoutalib in Frankfurt and Amaimouni-Echghouyab in Spain, but they can represent the Atlas Lions through their parents. The new Morocco head coach Mohamed Ouabhi has included them in the preliminary squad for the upcoming international break.

Ebnoutalib still has the possibility of playing for Germany as the March international matches will only be friendlies.
