A judge dismissed accusations of money laundering and fraud against the Barcelona president, Joan Laporta, this week. The charges were filed against him by a Barcelona member amid the election race for what could be Laporta's fourth term in office if he succeeds.

The complaint not only targeted Laporta but also numerous board members and senior directors. El Periodico (via Sport) reported that Judge Santiago Pedraz dismissed these accusations related to alleged businesses in Cyprus and Dubai, asserting that since the activity also involved Catalonia, the charges must be filed in a local Barcelona court.
